Mr Tan Eng Kee is the founder and mentor of Zhilong Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd. He was a fruit reseller back then during his younger days, helping his close relative in managing a fruit business. In the 1980s, Mr Tan chanced upon M & E maintenance business. Hence, he developed his keen interest in plumbing and sanitary industry. Picking up experiences along the years, involving in works like replacement of water pipe, washing of water tank in estate. For 20 years as a free-lance plumber, he finally decided to set on his own business venture in plumbing and sanitary as sole proprietor to address the needs in areas of commercial and industrial.

In 2013, Zhilong construction and Engineering Pte Ltd was incorporated. Throughout these years, he guided his sons to work alongside with him and led them in becoming the professional Licensed Plumbers.

He believes in treating his staff like a family to grow the company and uphold his core values. Safety has always been his number one priority. It means to safeguard all his employees and clients in having a fit and healthy life. Trust is next in his list where he believes in communication as the vital tool to deploy and enhance trustworthiness and honesty to all his stakeholders. Third value he focuses on is quality. He always wanted all clients to enjoy the quality of the finished products and/or services that he and his team can provides.

While managing ZLCE like a home for all his staff, he does not only provide mentorship, but also reporting to work daily and involving in strategizing the business and the company, leading ZLCE into the next phase of growth.

Mr Lawrence Tan, being the Director of Zhilong Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd, he is also a father of a son and a daughter. Lawrence graduated from Ngee Ann polytechnic in 1996 with a diploma in Mechatronics Engineering. He further upgraded himself to be a certified license plumber and achieved a certification in M & E maintenance from BCA academy.

As the younger son of Mr Tan Eng Kee, his father loves to share story about numeral encounters and challenges faced in plumbing and sanitary. In his polytechnic's days, mindful of his father being a freelance plumber and the sole breadwinner of the family, he always wanted to help taking part of the burden off his father. Hence, Lawrence decided to commit in a contract with the SAF as an air force Technician. He took it also as an opportunity to earn and learn while able to contribute to the family. Upon graduated from polytechnic, he began his commitment and fulfilment to the contract he had signed for earlier, which took him about 3 years to complete. By the end of the contract liability, having a business that was picking up and shorthandedness, his father invited Lawrence to join him. Hence, Lawrence agreed and worked alongside with his father, managing the business and the clients. Lawrence elected to understand the job by immersing himself into the physical labour work. While he earned his license plumber certification along the way, he was able to better understand the entire process.

In 2013, Lawrence decided to start a private limited partnership company and Zhilong construction and Engineering Pte Ltd was born. Upholding the 3 core values, Safe, Trust and Quality (like what his father had taught him), Lawrence recruited and trains staffs, instilling them with the core values and always reminding them along the way. Together with his father, Lawrence transformed the original sole proprietor business to the presently a corporation, Zhilong Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd.

Mr Michael Mau is the General Manager of Zhilong Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd. Having graduated from Ngee Ann polytechnic in 1996 with a diploma in Mechatronics Engineering, he also earned a certification in M & E maintenance from BCA academy and a SAF Army officer in the infantry unit during the days of his National Service.

After completion of his national service, he worked in a manufacturing plant as Plant Maintenance Engineer for a few years before he moved on to work with Everrich Enterprise as operation manager, handling the logistics matters in trading of commodity products. After a year as Operations Manager, he was exposed to Oil and Gas industry where he works for another 5 years for a local sole proprietor business (SCS). As a Site Service Engineer, he handled load monitoring system originated from Norway which his company is the sole distributor in Southeast Asia. He travelled around the world visiting various varies of rig, platform, FPSO and semi-submersible, doing on board installation and commissioning. He had gained his experience in working independently. He also sharpened his problem-solving skill in areas of the product and human communication skill with various people of different countries and walk of life.

After leaving SCS, he settled onshore, working for a wire rope manufacturing company (Bridon Rope) as Sales Engineer. He was capable of engineering wire rope sling for lifting, as well as selling of wire rope for use on cranes for hoisting. His outperformance of his peers highlighted him for promotions 3 times within 10 years of his career in Bridon to Sales manager. He managed a team and assisted the Finance Controller to consolidate and generate sales report for headquarters in the UK.

In 2018, he was invited to join Zhilong Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd. With his well-versed knowledge and management skills he honed in MNC and his past experiences, he has proven to push the company to greater height.

Ms Jojo Lim is the Finance Manager of Zhilong Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd. She handles the company’s finance function since the first day ZLCE’s incorporation. She started work young doing odd job to support the family and understand how different company functions. She gained her working experience and exposure along the way and achieve what she is today.

She is a mother of 2 children (1 Boy and 1 girl) and having a passion for fitness & training. Juggling between family, work and her passion, she always believes in work-life balance. She focuses on her work and never fail to manage account payables to staff and suppliers. Being the pioneer of ZLCE, she is equipped with knowledge on the company requirement and details entirely.

With her consistent output, she will be able to maintain ZLCE’s foundation to support her growth and beyond.

Ms Janice Toh is the HR and Accounting Manager of Zhilong Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd.

She graduated from Nanyang Polytechnic and pursued on a private degree major in E-commerce. Since her school days, she has been very independent and worked part-time to lessen the burden of the family. She managed to learn as she earns, achieving as what she is now.

She is married and a mother of 2 daughters. Before she joined ZLCE, she worked for company like travelling agency, event organizing company, MICE, MNC company for the duration of 23 years.

She joined ZLCE in 2017 to kick off electronic systemizing of sales order process and improved on the HR and accounts department for the company. She possesses a meticulous nature which help to sharpen the company workflow and steps in all administration processes.

With her diversify experiences, she is undoubtedly an asset to the company.

Mr Desmond Tan, is the Sales and Service Manager of Zhilong construction and Engineering Pte Ltd. He is the elder son of Mr Tan Eng Kee and a father of a son himself.

As the elder son of the family, Desmond started his career at very young age. He worked for Fonda Global as a plumber after his obligated National Services. Throughout his career till date, he earned numerous certificates as follow, BCCPE, Builder Certification in Plumbing and Pipe fittings, BCSS, Confined Space Rescue Certification, Hydraulic Excavator Operator Certification, National Trade Certification in Metal Machining, Plumbing Maintenance Courses, Underground Service Detection Certification, WISE certification and being a Professional License Plumber.

After leaving Fonda Global, he helped his father in handling the operation segment of the plumbing works during the early development of his father's sole proprietor business. Employing his experiences from the previous company, he accomplished various projects and tasks in the professional, efficient and effective aspect.

When Zhilong Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd established in 2013, he is one of the pioneers in joining in the ZLCE family.

Well equipped with his years of field experience, he is more than capable of providing fast, effective solutions for our clients.

Mr Leslie Lim is the Operations and Procurement Manager of Zhilong Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd. He possesses over 10 years of forwarding experience and 7 years of procurement experience.

Like many others, he started off his career straight after completion of his full-time National Service. He joined the workforce as an Application Engineer with Technical Support function in a local company.

He ventured into forwarding industry 2 years after to take up the position as an Airfreight Export Officer. For the next decade, he worked his way up with his focused mindset, hard work and diligence. During this period, he learned to communicate and work efficiently with all levels, from colleagues worldwide, vendors clients and customers. Before he left forwarding industry, he was already the Operations Manager in-charge of several departments like Airfreight, Sea Freight, Import and Export, 3^rd party, Hub Services and Pricing Desk.

Thirsty for knowledge and to pursue in personal growth, he boldly ventured into Food Industry to take up the role as a Procurement Manager where he set processing standards and SOPs to synergize both Store and Procurement department to ensure all requirements and policies by government agencies had been met and orders were fulfilled within the company.

After having been working in the fast-paced food industry for 7 years, he again made another bold move into Plumbing and Sanitary Industry. With his experience, will for learning and the ability to resolve challenges, he will genuinely be a pillar to support Zhilong Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd management team.

Mr Varadarajan Aravintakumar is the Site and Service manager of Zhilong Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd. He possesses in-depth knowledge in areas of Plumbing and Sanitary for many years.

Like many foreign workers who come to Singapore, he first came to Singapore with a dream and vision to build a career and a family in this foreign land. He was employed into a company doing project on plumbing and sanitary works as a general worker when he stepped foot into the island. With his hardworking and diligent attitudes, he hastily picked up the skill and excel in the expertise as he earns. His never-say-die attitude pushed himself to timely complete all tasks that was assigned to him. Hence, it put him under the spotlight amongst the management that soon got him promoted to a supervisory post.

He joined ZLCE 2 years before the company was incorporated in 2013, working with Mr Tan in the sole proprietor company. As a pioneer of ZLCE, he utilizes his experience to develop the site and service team. The team had grown from a 6 men team to a very diversified workforce that handles more and different types of loads, from washing of water tank, plumbing & sanitary works, pump maintenance, renovation and reinstatement works and many more.

As much as ZLCE provide him with a stage to perform, he will grow stronger with the company, and he can have his dream and vision fulfilled. His perseverance will bound to brace ZLCE concretely.
